In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Schaumburg; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Illinois are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–2:30 pm. Really nice Indian Chinese restaurant in Shaumburg. Service was pretty good, hostess was friendly and honest with her recommendations. Highly recommend crispy chilli baby corn. Drinks were also very nice. Plenty of parking available.

Hoffman Estates Inn Chin Bamboo Garden occupies a valuable niche in Chicagoland's limited Indian-Chinese dining landscape, and several dishes showcase genuine promise. The positives stood out clearly: the soup was exceptionally well-executed, and signature appetizers like the Lat Mai Kai displayed the skillful balance this kitchen is capable of achieving. The fried rice was equally solid, suggesting consistency across select menu items. However, several core dishes: notably the Hakka noodles and vegetable Manchurian, presented a significant shortfall in seasoning. This underseasoning, combined with portions that felt substantially diminished relative to the price point and mandatory gratuity, created a disappointing disconnect between expectation and delivery. For what I paid, I expected both the depth of flavor and the portion generosity that justify the investment. For context, a comparable meal at Naan King near JFK in New York delivered measurably superior quality, larger portions, and better value despite New York's higher cost structure. This comparison underscores that the gap isn't a matter of regional economics, but of execution and priorities. While the restaurant cle

We ordered Chicken Corn Soup, no flavor at all. Chicken Fried Rice terrible and Old, not cooked to the order and the same thing with Chicken Makhani Chicken tasted like a rubber. I asked the waiter, I understand it’s slow now, so you couldn’t cook to the order. Do you cook to the order in the evening. The waiter told us we always cook each items to the order. I asked again, if during the lunch time if our food was cooked to the order. The waiter said Yes. The worst Chinese and Indian food ever ate. Small portion and pricey too. The ambiance was good, was it really a matter now.

We used to come to Bamboo Garden almost every month and always had a great experience, which is why we decided to host guests here. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. The biggest issue was the service. There were three waiters, and every one of them was rude, impatient, and had an attitude from the moment they took our order. They ignored our simple requests, acted like we were inconveniencing them, and didn’t seem to care about customer service at all. We specifically asked for the soup and appetizers first, then the main dishes, but they brought everything out at the same time. The soup was terrible, and when we asked to have it taken back, they completely dismissed us. The rest of the food was bland, didn’t taste fresh, and most of the dishes tasted the same. When we tried to explain our concerns, the staff remained rude and dismissive instead of trying to fix the situation. Having to pay a tip after such poor service made the experience even more disappointing. It’s sad to see how much this place has changed. We left embarrassed in front of our guests and won’t be coming back.
